We often say our receptionists have the hardest job because they juggle so much while keeping a smile on their face. Our receptionists are known for loving and doting on each and every pet that comes in.
Ann started at Homewood Animal Hospital the summer of 2015, and is currently a full time Receptionist. She has lived in Birmingham since April 2009 moving from her hometown of St. Augustine, Florida. There she realized her love for working close to animals and animal rescue. Ann has a particular
closeness to the American Pitt Bulls and has rescued several over the years. Currently they have Hazel, a Red Nose Pitt Bull and Bella a Pit Bull mix.
Ann is married to Roger and together they have four children, Chris, Zach, Chelsea and Cody. They also have three grandchildren Elijah, Colton & Emma Riley.
Lauren has been a member of Homewood Animal Hospital for 6 years. She has worked both receptionist and technician duties throughout the years. Lauren was born and raised in Homewood, AL and attended Homewood City Schools where she met her husband Trent. Lauren and Trent have a precious little boy, Lane, and a beautiful girl, Lyla. They currently have two Pitbull puppies Cash & Lucy and Miss Kitty, a large tabby.
Jamie started at Homewood Animal
Hospital in October of 2018. She is currently a full time receptionist. She has lived in West Homewood for 9 years. Jamie has two Pitbull rescues named Lucky and Sugar. She has a huge heart for animal and loves working with time.
Jamie is married to Jim, who also has a huge heart for animal as well!
Veterinary Technicians are the "nurses" in our profession. They are crucial to the excellent care and attention your pet recieves and deserves. We would not be able to do our job without the dedication they provide on a daily basis.
Sarah grew up in Hunstville, Alabama. She attended Lincoln Memorial University where she obtained her Veterinary Technician degree in 2011. After school she worked as a LVT in Knoxville, TN for 4 years before moving back to Alabama to be closer to family. Sarah moved to Birmingham and joined our team in April 2016. She is one of three children and has two cats, Angel & Copperhead.
Michelle has been a member of our Homewood Animal Hospital Team for over 4 years. She was raised in Vestavia Hills, AL. In her spare time she enjoys participating in numerous 5Ks. She has two very different cats Linus, a large laid back orange tabby, & Bruce, a young fiery black cat. Michelle is also the proud owner of Dudley, a handsome English Cream Golden Retriever. Michelle provides pet sitting services on the side.
Brittany was raised in Manchester, Michigan and moved to Birmingham in 2013. She has her Early Childhood Development Associate degree and has been working with children her entire adult life. Brittany is in the process of getting her Veterinary Technician degree. In her free time she loves hiking during the summer months and snowboarding in the winter.
Tabatha is from Locust Fork, Alabama. She is currently a second year at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine fulfilling her dream of becoming a Veterinarian. She has worked with us for the last 2 years with us during her breaks to gain experience and knowledge in the veterinary field.
Madison is from Hoover, AL and attended the University of Alabama Huntsville where she obtained her B.S. in Biology and was a member of the track team. Madison was recently accepted into Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine and will start in the fall of 2019. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her kitty Minnie and working out.
Merridth joined our team in September 2018. She is the Kennel manager and ensures all of our boarding patients are properly and compassionately cared for.
She was born and raised in Fultondale, AL. Merridth is the proud guardian to
Nikki, a terrier mix, and Prince Twisty, a tuxedo cat. She also owns two male rats, Algernon and Ratigan and has a special infinity for exotic pets. In her free time, Merridth enjoys researching different types of animals, learning about their care and watching animal documentaries.
Jessica is from Vestavia Hills, AL and currently attends Birmingham Southern College were she is working on a Biology Major and a Minor in Sociology with a distinction in Public Health Studies. Jessica wishes to pursue veterinary medicine and will be applying next year. She was a member of the BSC Softball team and currently gives pitching lessons. Jessica is also an active member in her sorority AOII. She has a Golden Retriever named Blayze that she would like to train to be a service pet thru Hand in Paw.
